My Piano Career
I have been playing the piano for 35 years in total. My professional legacy stretches from my childhood home of Brockton, Massachusetts through Glasgow, Belfast, Barcelona, Geneva, Cape Cod, Los Angeles and throughout Northern California. My artistic style, developed through years of Classical and jazz piano lessons but also due to a keen memory and ear, has been compared to as diverse a collection of artists as Billy Joel, Tori Amos, Ronnie Milsap and Bill Evans. I enjoy playing in a number of disparate genres, from rock and pop to jazz and musical theatre (and occasionally a Classical piece). Though I am typically a solo pianist, I have performed in several bands and as an accompanist, including for musical theatre productions at both the collegiate and community levels. I have been told that my audiences are often enthralled by my energy and by the emotional power of my ballad interpretations, and I try to provide them an innovative and satisfying juxtaposition of contemporary and standard fare.
At times, I perform a requests-driven sing-along rock and roll piano show, either at local bars or streaming on the internet. I have proudly built a repertoire that encompasses the work of over eleven hundred artists. As an example, below is the "rock" portion of my library (though it delves into other genres) of songs from artists whose names begin with “A,” "B" and "C."
